Want to know a secret on how to be successful? -it’s not knowing it all -it’s not being perfect -it’s not you doing it all by yourself If you want to reach a goal, the number one thing is learning how to respond emotionally to the circumstances around you. Learning to respond instead of REACTING will open so many doors for you. Emotions influence the body's system in ways that can renew or deplete you at a physiological, social, behavioral, and cognitive level. From a psychophysiological perspective, emotions are central to the experience of stress. Your stress response is activated when YOUR SENSE of control over your environment is challenged. So you start feeling frustration, anxiety, despair, or hopelessness and you quit pursuing that goal that you so eagerly had planned out. Emotional arousal dominates the mental landscape and it's more difficult to calm down, shift away and "turn off" any strong emotions that you are feeling. This is also why when threatened, people tend to react first and think about it later. I'm sure we have all experienced this in our life more than once. After I learned how to apply this approach and started teaching others, I have witnessed amazing changes and success stories in many others. It won't always be easy or flawless, strive to get better at it each day. Some days I really struggle and overanalyze everything but most days are balanced, joyful, and relaxed regardless of the circumstances in my life. This is why having someone experienced in this subject that truly understands you can be so beneficial to your business and relationships. Next time you are feeling stressed, anxious, and wanting to give up on your vision of success try this simple but powerful technique that will influence your sympathetic nervous system. 1. Place your attention on the area of your chest with your eyes opened or closed. Imagine your breath flowing in and out of your chest or heart area, breathing a little slower and deeper than usual. 2. Experience any regenerative feeling that you prefer like appreciation or care for someone or something in your life (partner, friend, pets, an accomplishment, or special place) 3. Continue inhaling for 5 seconds, exhale for 5 seconds, or whatever rhythm is more comfortable for 3 more cycles. 4. List everyday situations that drain you and next time they happen apply this technique and make a note of how you felt afterward vs doing nothing about it. There’s a factor that’s a major cause of absence and labor turnover for companies and organizations worldwide that can affect a person as well as teams and organizations, and yet, not many people are aware of it or are open to addressing it. As a nurse, I know for a fact that the healthcare industry is struggling the most with this issue. It has affected corporate leaders, physicians, nurses, and other interdepartmental employees. Nurses are resigning, switching careers, or choosing to do travel nursing because the current environment is too overwhelming and don’t feel supported which aggravates staffing shortages nationwide. That factor is the impact of stress on businesses. 75 to 90% of every person that walks into a healthcare facility in the Western World walks in because of emotional and psychological stress or a condition that was created as a result of it. If it’s not addressed, emotional and psychological stress ultimately leads to other chronic conditions and health problems that will make employees: • less creative • less communicative • more competitive in a way that does not add real value to the business • more resistant to change • consistently resentful, anxious, or depressed This adds to the toxic environment that they're reacting to and challenges upper management even more. Leaders end up feeling frustrated, lonely and misunderstood because they can’t think of solutions on how to solve such a concerning issue. All of this has a direct effect on profits and growth in organizations in addition to suboptimal retention and turnover rates. The good news is that there's a way to teach people how to make significant changes in the brain and body based on over 25 years of scientific research. It's actually a formula based on neuroscience that allows you to see change and improvements in a person from day one. Comment below or reach out to me directly to learn more about this proven approach that has helped many people and companies worldwide and how it can benefit your personal life and your organization as well. I want more and I want it now! That seems to be society’s never-ending hunger and it is actually based on the emotions of frustration, impatience, and concern over not having enough time. But not enough time for what exactly? Is it more money, more health, getting a promotion, or more time to do what you actually enjoy? We will always crave more things but it’s important to be clear if our desires come from ambition or greed in order to invest our time and resources in a proactive way and prevent feeling guilty once we are older. Ambition is the desire and determination to achieve success and it’s a good quality to have because it’s what has helped us evolve. But if you have a constant feeling that somehow something is not quite “right” in your life, like a void or this inner knowledge that there must be something else out there for you. I can assure you that no matter what you do, how much money you make, or how hard you try that feeling will keep showing up in your life in different ways. So I want to invite you to consider a different perspective based on the latest scientific research.
